Residents on Shell Beach Road are concerned about traffic safety.  You probably are aware that Shell Beach Road is the only section of public roadway left on Eagle Lake with an open view of the lake and therefore, is traveled by many locals and sightseers.   Shell Beach road is not constructed to DOT standards for two way traffic and has a 15 mph speed limit.  This short section of road is used by cyclists, golf carts, and joggers and can pose a serious safety problem  having two way traffic, especially if the speed limit is not being observed.   Residents along the Shell Beach Road have spoken to the county to have speed bumps installed to enhance safety.    The supervisor of our district, Mr. Banks, advised  that the speed bumps would be installed as funds became available, however there was no firm date as to when this would happen.
